Mad Ship and Silent Night on Screens Near You

Posted on January 4, 2013

Local production company Buffalo Gal Pictures has seen two of their films released this month, one theatrical and one to DVD.

Mad Ship is the story of a man's idealistic effort to build a boat and haul it over the prairie to transport his family back to Norway from the barren despair of the Dust Bowl Prairies. It had its theatrical premiere December 7th at Winnipeg’s Globe Theatre and will open in theatres nationwide in February.

New to DVD is Silent Night, a “loose remake” of 1984’s Silent Night, Deadly Night. In the new version, Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) plays a small town sheriff who must find a Christmas killer dressed as Santa.

Buffalo Gal Pictures was the local producer on both films. Phyllis Laing produced Silent Night and Liz Jarvis produced Mad Ship.
