The Event

The Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC), European Film Promotion (EFP), and Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) proudly present Producers Lab Toronto (PLT) 2014, a 3-day intensive forum for developing international co-productions.  PLT offers a focused opportunity for mid-level Canadian producers to develop relationships with European peers from a range of territories. It also provides opportunities to exchange project ideas, build knowledge, and build partnerships for the financing, production and distribution of Canada-Europe co-productions.

In 2014, PLT will again include producers from guest countries Australia and New Zealand – further broadening the opportunities for international relationship building and co-production.

Scheduled at the start of TIFF, Producers Lab Toronto will consist of meetings, pitching sessions, case studies and roundtables with other members of the group and industry executives, along with VIP hospitality and networking events. All 24 producer participants receive a complimentary TIFF Industry Pass to enhance their networking opportunities and Canadian producers from outside Toronto may be eligible to receive flight and hotel subsidies.

European participants are selected from alumni of the EFP’s “Producers on the Move” program, while Australian and New Zealand producers are selected by Screen Australia and the New Zealand Film Commission.

Requirements and Application

Canadian applicants must have:

• at least one theatrically released feature film producer credit;
• co-production experience or a track record sufficient to make them viable co-production partners; and
• one or more projects in development suitable for international co-production. 

 

Registration fee for accepted Canadian producer applicants is $500.00 payable on acceptance to the program.

Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday, July 25, 2014.
