A Huge Congratulations to Paul Gross!

Posted on October 23, 2014

Manitoba Film & Music would like to congratulate actor and filmmaker Paul Gross, this year’s recipient of the Canadian Screen Awards Earle Grey Award.

Gross is currently in Manitoba filming his latest project Hyena Road, a war story about a sniper who becomes implicated in the life of one of his targets.

The star of quintessential Canadian shows Due South and Slings & Arrows, Gross is being honoured by the Academy for his body of work and contribution to the international profile of Canadian television. He has been recognized previously by the Academy for his work in television, as well as for his passion project Passchendaele, which won the Best Motion Picture Genie.

“We are very proud to be supporting Paul’s latest feature film project Hyena Road, which is being filmed in our province with Manitoba crew,” said Carole Vivier, CEO & Film Commissioner with Manitoba Film & Music. “In the vein of Passchendaele, this is an important film that will help bring Canadian stories to the world.”

Hyena Road began shooting at the end of September at CFB Shiloh near Brandon, Manitoba. Filming will also take place in southern Jordan in January, 2015. Hyena Road stars Paul Gross and Rossif Sutherland.
