Climate and Sustainable Production

Manitoba Film & Music recognizes that reducing the negative environmental impacts of motion picture production is critical for our industry. We licensed Reel Green™, a program to inspire, empower and enable sustainable production with a goal to improve the wellbeing of crews and the communities in which we film.

The course is a unique, engaging and solutions-based experience, providing attendees the knowledge and tools to live and work in a more sustainable way. Participants in this workshop are sure to be engaged by thought-provoking presentations, fun (yes, fun!) activities and the space to reflect and plan. After completion, attendees will:

Understand the science of climate change
Recognize the environmental impacts of film production
Take away knowledge of best practices, tools and techniques
Easily identify opportunities to put learnings into action

Workshops have moved online. Dates to be announced.

Sponsored by Manitoba Film & Music, IATSE and the Directors Guild of Canada's Manitoba District Council, this training is offered at no cost to employers and attendees. We invite you to join us in this initiative by promoting this session broadly to crew members, sub-contractors and service providers who can RSVP to reelgreen@mbfilmmusic.ca.
