Government of Manitoba provides additional sustainability funding to support Manitoba’s arts and culture sector

Posted on February 3, 2022

The Government of Manitoba has announced that they are investing an additional $6M into the Arts and Culture Sustainability Fund to provide support to this sector, heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manitoba Film & Music has been asked to distribute a portion of these government investments through its Music Companies Sustainability Fund and Artist Development Sustainability Fund.

These two sustainability programs, aimed at supporting music companies and professional recording artists, provide critical funding to support business continuity, protecting/creating jobs, furthering the adoption of new business models, assisting in a safe reopening of the company’s and artist’s businesses, and facilitating projects that have a strong community impact.

Manitoba Film & Music, on behalf of the local music sector, would like to express considerable gratitude to the provincial government for this important initiative.

Full details regarding submission guidelines and deadlines will be available soon.
