Tanya Tagaq to Perform at Polaris Gala

Manitoba artist Tanya Tagaq will perform at this year's Polaris Gala in Toronto. Tagaq made the short list for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize for her album 'Animism'. The prize is awarded annually for the best full-length Canadian album.

The gala will take place September 22, 2014 at The Carlu in Toronto. Tagaq is the first Manitoba artist to perform at the gala in the history of the Polaris Music Prize.

Local musician Greg MacPherson made the Polaris long list this year for his album 'Fireball'. The last Manitoba act to make the short list was The Weakerthans for their album 'Reunion Tour'.
