Response To COVID-19 Operations & Programs Update

The following changes are effective immediately:

OFFICE AND CLIENT ACCESS

Meetings: Meetings with clients normally held in person at our office will now be done over the telephone.

Office Restrictions: Manitoba Film & Music’s office is closed to the public until further notice.

 

ADMINISTRATION

Applications delivery: Manitoba Film & Music will only accept applications by email to music@mbfilmmusic.ca. For recording program applicants, please contact the program director (Stephen@mbfilmmusic.ca), or program coordinator (Bonnie@mbfilmmusic.ca) for delivery of audio files.

Contracts: Execution and delivery of contracts will only be done electronically.

Cheques: Payments will now be mailed out rather than collected in person from our office. Reports: Reports due to be delivered to Manitoba Film & Music should be submitted electronically.

 

PROGRAM ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO COVID-19

Tour Program Closed: Due to the current travel restrictions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, as of March 19th, the Recording Artist Tour Support Program is temporarily closed and no new applications will be accepted until further notice.

Reporting Extensions: Manitoba Film & Music will automatically grant an extension of 60 days to all reporting and related delivery requirements. Applicants can contact Manitoba Film & Music staff if they would like to set specific reporting deadlines beyond the 60-day extension.

Approved Tour Grants: For applications approved prior to March 19, 2020 that are impacted by COVID-19, Manitoba Film & Music will honor 100% of our funding commitments regardless of the number of concerts performed and/or the total of the final budget submitted. Manitoba Film & Music’s reporting requirements remain as per the guidelines with the additional requirement of delivery of a written report detailing how the project was impacted by COVID-19.

Approved Marketing, Recording, Video, and Business Development Applications: For applications approved prior to March 19, 2020 that are impacted by COVID-19, Manitoba Film & Music will increase the funded percentage of the applicant’s budget to cover 100% of the final total eligible expenses, even if the project remains incomplete. As per the guidelines, Manitoba Film & Music’s contribution and other government funding cannot exceed 100% of the final budget and Manitoba Film & Music’s total contribution will not exceed the amount offered in the Letter of Commitment. Manitoba Film & Music’s reporting requirements remain as per the guidelines with the additional requirement of a delivery of a written report detailing how the project was impacted by COVID-19.

Applicants to the  Marketing,  Video,  Recording,  and  Business  Development  Programs:  Manitoba  Film  &  Music remains open to receiving applications via email for all other programs but recommends that applicants      be knowledgeable of current public health advisories as issued by the Province of Manitoba and Health Canada.
